Grand Theft Auto VI's Soundtrack Arrives, Gorillaz's Full Trilogy Gets the Hand-Pressed Treatment, Michael Jackson and System of a Down Both Turn 25
Plus Teddy Swims gets honest on UGLY, Cyndi Lauper's True Colors at 40, and a George Michael reissue tied to a UK-wide celebration of the album format itself.
Sunday's a big one. The most anticipated video game of the decade gets an actual soundtrack album, one of the strangest and best bands of the 2000s gets its entire catalog re-pressed by hand, and two genuinely massive records both hit the quarter-century mark in the same week. Lock it all in.
The Big Ones
Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album [2LP]
Rockstar Games doesn't do anything small, and the soundtrack for the most anticipated game in a decade is no exception. Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album is a genuine 34-track record made in partnership with Atlantic Records, built specifically to capture the neon sprawl of Vice City and Leonida rather than just licensing whatever was already on the radio. The first six songs are out now and they're a genuinely wild cross-section: Travis Scott's 'RHYNO,' produced by Daft Punk's Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo; Yung Lean teaming up with Future and Metro Boomin on 'That's It'; a four-way genre collision between CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.., and Etienne de Crécy called 'Sexy Magic'; Morgan Wallen going full country on 'Last Thing You Need'; Rauw Alejandro's 'Macacoa 2000'; and, in the single strangest pairing on the tracklist, Keith Richards himself showing up on 'Bright Lights, Big City.' The other 28 tracks haven't been revealed yet.
The album drops November 19, the same day as the game itself, and this indie-exclusive marble pink/blue vinyl comes with a 12x24 poster, a genuine collector's item whether you're picking it up for the music or the moment. Get in now; the official vinyl edition through Rockstar's own store already sold out once.
Gorillaz Vinyl & Cassette Reissues
Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett's cartoon band gets the full trilogy treatment this December, and it's not a routine repress, every single copy in this campaign is genuinely one of a kind. The self-titled 2001 debut ('Clint Eastwood,' '19-2000') returns on hand-pressed camouflage green, brown, and black double vinyl. Demon Days (2005), home to the Grammy-winning 'Feel Good Inc.,' plus 'DARE' and features from De La Soul, MF Doom, and Neneh Cherry, comes on a hand-pressed blend of green, purple, and red. And Plastic Beach, Albarn's most ambitious pop vision, with Snoop Dogg, Lou Reed, Bobby Womack, and Mos Def all aboard the floating island, gets the half-speed audiophile treatment on its own unique hand-pressed colorway. Every LP in this campaign has a matching cassette. Because each one is individually pressed by hand, no two copies look exactly alike, what you get is genuinely, permanently yours. Out December 4.
Michael Jackson — Invincible (25th Anniversary Edition) [2LP]
The King of Pop's final studio album turns 25, his most ambitious and expensive record, home to 'You Rock My World,' 'Butterflies,' and 'Cry.' A new anniversary color pressing of the 2001 release, out November 13.
Also worth flagging: Invincible's stablemate on this list, George Michael's Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1, is one of the headline titles in this year's National Album Day, the UK's annual celebration of the album format, taking place October 17 under the theme 'Icons.' It's genuinely good company to be in, the full 2026 lineup also includes Pink Floyd, The Who, New Order, Aretha Franklin, and Bob Dylan. We'll be adding more National Album Day titles as they're confirmed, so keep an eye out over the next few weeks.
System of a Down — Toxicity (25th Anniversary) [Red Vinyl 2LP + 7"]
The nu-metal landmark turns 25, 'Chop Suey!,' 'Aerials,' and 'Toxicity' still hit like nothing else. Expanded to red vinyl 2LP with a bonus 7", a poster, and a custom '25' etching. A quarter-century of controlled chaos. Out November 20.
Teddy Swims — UGLY [Vinyl]
Swims wrote his second album across the fifteen months since his son was born, and it shows. Lead single 'Perfect Man' is about the exact kind of self-forgiveness that follows becoming a parent, Swims has described spending years holding himself to an impossible standard as a partner and father, and the song is his attempt to reframe insecurity as strength rather than something to hide. The Grammy-nominated, diamond-certified soul powerhouse behind 'Lose Control' turns that same raw honesty inward here. UGLY is his most vulnerable, self-aware record yet, arriving alongside a full North American arena tour.
