By revisiting and reimagining the sounds of his early years, with the late 1990s ambient techno scene in Tromsø as a background, Eide summons a music that is anything but nostalgic, but instead offers a kind of ‘geological stratification’ where eras and protocols collide, overlap and complement each other, revealing the remarkable singularity of the Norwegian artist’s sound palette. The piece also expresses the extreme consistency and authenticity of his musical vision, a vision in which technological innovations, the contemplated environment and lived emotions converge in a space apart, that of dreamlike music, always to be invented, always in motion, always in transformation.
