Tanner York - Welcome to the Shower [CD]

Welcome to the Shower is the debut album from Asheville, North Carolina songwriter Tanner York, first self-released in 2025 via Trash Tape Records and now reissued by Merge Records. York recorded, performed and mixed the album himself on a Tascam 488 cassette eight-track, working in Asheville apartments, the studio at UNC Asheville and his parents' attic.

Its short, hooky lo-fi power pop draws on the Beach Boys, the Beatles and XTC. The Merge edition adds a new bonus track, "Dumbest Person Alive".
