George Garzone - Themes For Good Friends [LP]

Tenor saxophonist George Garzone has been a defining voice on his instrument for more than fifty years, and a revered Berklee teacher whose students include Joshua Redman, Branford Marsalis and Mark Turner. Themes for Good Friends unites him with old friends Randy Brecker, Luis Perdomo, Santi Debriano and Jeff 'Tain' Watts, opening with Coltrane's 'Theme for Ernie' in duo with Perdomo and including Archie Shepp's 'U-Jaama' and a Garzone and Watts deconstruction of 'Giant Steps'.

Recorded at Rudy Van Gelder's studio and pressed on 180-gram vinyl by Jojo Records.
