John Coltrane – The Tiberi Tapes (Live) [4LP]
The Tiberi Tapes gathers eleven selections from John Coltrane's early-1960s club performances in Philadelphia and New York, captured by saxophonist Frank Tiberi on portable recording equipment. These are live audience recordings: tape hiss and room sound remain part of the document, alongside extended improvisations and evolving arrangements. Presented as a four-LP set, the collection offers an intimate view of Coltrane and his collaborators at work on the bandstand.
