The Detroit Sessions [12"]

Ziggy Zeitgeist x Malik Alston - The Detroit Sessions [12"]

In July 2025 Ziggy Zeitgeist spent six weeks in Detroit with no plan beyond digging into the city's deep musical roots. At a weeknight vinyl session in a downtown bar he met Malik Alston; each already knew the other's work, and they quickly set up studio time. Local turntablist and producer DJ Moppy opened his home studio for the sessions. The results span six tracks, including two takes on "Sunday Morning," "Where Would We Be Without You" featuring Badriyyah, and Malik's Detroit techno mix of "The Dancer."
