Tales of Mystery and Imagination: Edgar Allan Poe [Deluxe 3CD Book Set]

The Alan Parsons Project - Tales of Mystery and Imagination: Edgar Allan Poe [Deluxe 3CD Book Set]

The Alan Parsons Project's debut album, originally released in June 1976, sets stories and poems by Edgar Allan Poe to music. Engineer/producer Alan Parsons and songwriter Eric Woolfson brought in guest vocalists Arthur Brown ("The Tell-Tale Heart"), John Miles ("The Cask of Amontillado", "(The System of) Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether") and Terry Sylvester of The Hollies ("To One in Paradise"), with members of Ambrosia and Pilot and keyboardist Francis Monkman also playing on the record.

This 50th anniversary deluxe edition presents the original 1976 album, the 1987 remix album and 34 bonus tracks - 12 of them previously unreleased - including demos, rough mixes, alternate takes and Eric Woolfson songwriting diary recordings. Audio was mastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios, and the discs are housed in a 60-page book with full lyrics, track commentary and interviews with Alan Parsons, Sally Woolfson and contributors to the album.
