This album, recorded in 2024 by three musicians who have become indispensable figures in the Japanese music scene, captures interplay that constantly releases the primal energy inherent in "playing," while at the same time carrying a spontaneous radicalism. While rooted in jazz and free jazz forms, it leads the listener right to the edge, as if drawing them together into its liminal state.

Another key attraction is the sound production, which brims with dimensionality and an overwhelming scale. The mixing was handled by Tatsuhisa Yamamoto himself, with mastering by Jim O'Rourke. From the most delicate textures of each instrument to vast sonic landscapes that seem far beyond the work of three people, everything is faithfully captured on record.

poketto is a band formed by Riki Hidaka, Kei Matsumaru, and Tatsuhisa Yamamoto.
Their releases so far include a venue-limited 100-copy CD-R (sold out) and the live album "Eiko in the poketto" (150 copies, featuring Eiko Ishibashi, also sold out). Their first studio album "pocket" will be released on CD/LP from STEREO RECORDS on September 3, 2025.
