Hibushibire - Phantom Fuzzy Exotica [Clear LP]

Osaka quartet Hibushibire return with Phantom Fuzzy Exotica, their fifth studio album, built around the idea of phantoms: things that seem to exist but don't. Psychedelia, '70s hard rock and folk rock collide across punchy riff tunes, mellow interludes and long psych jams, and four of the five tracks now carry vocals. Highlights include the Deep Purple-meets-Pink Floyd opener "Mandrake Oracle," the spaghetti western "Minagoroshi Western" and a cover of Occitan band Mont-Jòia's "Ai Vist Lo Lop."
