Pathless Path [LP]

Charles Lloyd - Pathless Path [LP]

The first-ever vinyl reissue of this rare holy grail 1979 album, one of Charles Lloyd's most unusual recordings: a unique meeting point of spiritual jazz, ambient and early new age, featuring Mara Purl on koto and future Group 87 members Mark Isham, Peter Maunu and Patrick O'Hearn.

By the end of the 1960s, Charles Lloyd was one of the biggest names in jazz, his quartet with Keith Jarrett, Cecil McBee and Jack DeJohnette reaching far beyond the usual jazz audience. Pathless Path captures a very different side of his artistry. Mastered by GRAMMY-nominated mastering and restoration engineer Jessica Thompson.
