Patrick Cowley - Muscle Up [2LP]

Patrick Cowley was a pioneer of San Francisco disco and Hi-NRG. Born in Buffalo in 1950, he moved to San Francisco, founded the Electronic Music Lab at City College, and became known for producing Sylvester and remixing Donna Summer before his death in 1982.

Muscle Up brings together 75 minutes of his synthesizer music from 1973 to 1980, drawn from the Fox Studio archives and the Megatone Records vaults. It includes soundtrack material from two Fox Studio films plus more songs from the same era, all inspired by Tomita, Wendy Carlos and Giorgio Moroder and restored and mastered at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley.

This double LP on black vinyl includes an 8x11 replica Muscle Up poster with the original VHS artwork and an essay by Maurice Tani.
