Krommer: Complete Clarinet Concertos [2CD]

Marek Švejkar – Krommer: Complete Clarinet Concertos [2CD]

The first complete recording of the clarinet concertos by Franz Krommer (František Vincenc Kramář, 1759-1831), the Czech-born composer who became Kapellmeister and court composer in Vienna. The set includes three solo concertos, two double concertos and the Concertino for Clarinet and Orchestra, rediscovered in the Czech Radio archives.

Two works appear on record for the first time: the Concerto in E-flat major, Op. 52 in Krommer's clarinet version, and the Concertino. Young Czech clarinetist Marek Švejkar is joined by Paul Meyer in the double concertos, with the Hradec Králové Philharmonic under Jiří Habart. A 2CD set from Supraphon.

Genre: Classical, Orchestral.
