Hours Were the Birds [LP]

Adrianne Lenker - Hours Were the Birds [LP]

Hours Were the Birds is Adrianne Lenker's first solo album, made before Big Thief's Masterpiece and Capacity. Newly arrived in New York with little to show for her work, she returned to her hometown of Minneapolis in 2013 and recorded ten songs on acoustic guitar with producer Rob Oesterlin, close to a live solo show. Andrew Sarlo, who later produced Big Thief, mixed it, and it first came out in January 2014: a set full of vivid imagery and intimate stories.

On vinyl LP from 4AD.
