Jimmy Wilson moved west from Louisiana and was discovered singing gospel in California before helping define the raw Bay Area R&B sound with producer Bob Geddins, and his pure, soulful tenor bridged West Coast blues, jump R&B and early rock 'n' roll. This set gathers his best A-sides from 1951 to 1960 for labels like Aladdin, Big Town, Goldband and Duke, anchored by the 1953 Top 10 R&B hit 'Tin Pan Alley'.
