Ella and Louis [LP]

Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong - Ella and Louis [LP]

Recorded in August 1956 with the Oscar Peterson Trio and drummer Buddy Rich, Ella and Louis pairs the two most beloved voices in jazz on a set of Gershwin, Berlin and Arlen standards. Cut the day after an all-star Hollywood Bowl concert, the sessions had no time for rehearsal, and the relaxed, warm interplay that resulted is exactly why the album endures. A vinyl LP reissue from Verve.
