Book Of Carols [6CD Box Set]

Sarah Davachi - Book Of Carols [6CD Box Set]

Book Of Carols is a collection of longform music for any season from Canadian composer Sarah Davachi, and a companion piece to her 2026 solo album The Will Of Tongues, which NPR called "a beautiful exercise in tension and release."

The box gathers six commissioned works: "Long Dance Vale," commissioned by The Broad Museum in Los Angeles; "Diptych," for viola and telescopic aulos, commissioned by Sonic Acts Biennial; "Basso Continuo," commissioned by Ghost Ensemble; "Double Reeds," for Hammond organ and tape, with a film by Dicky Bahto; "Three Unisons for Four Voices," commissioned by No Hay Banda; and "Brass Chant," commissioned by The Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Davachi has been awarded the 2026 Silver Lion by the Venice Biennale in recognition of her distinctive body of electroacoustic work. This edition presents six discs in individual card wallets housed in a rigid slipcase.
