Anna Reichhold – Aubert: Six Sonatas for Traverso & Harpsichord [CD]
Jacques Aubert (1689-1753) was a French Baroque violin virtuoso, a member of the Vingt-quatre Violons du Roi, first violinist of the Paris Opéra and a regular soloist at the Concert Spirituel. His six sonatas for traverso and harpsichord blend graceful French dances such as gavottes and gigues with Italian lyricism and brilliance.
The harpsichord is a true partner rather than an accompanist, trading lines with the flute through tender and virtuosic movements alike. Baroque flutist Anna Reichhold and Taiwanese harpsichordist Tung-Han Hu, a winner of several international competitions, perform on CD for Brilliant Classics.
Genre: Baroque, Chamber Music, Classical.
