The Above Ground Sound of Jake Holmes is the debut album by American singer-songwriter Jake Holmes, released in 1967, and stands as a significant example of psychedelic folk-rock from the second half of the 1960s. The album has a minimalist and unusual sound: the songs are built primarily around vocals, two electric guitars and bass, with no drums, creating an intimate, ethereal and almost hypnotic atmosphere.
