A Moonrise Was the Second Coming [LP]

Hammock – A Moonrise Was the Second Coming [LP]

Over twenty years into their partnership, Marc Byrd and Andrew Thompson of Hammock continue their run of sweeping, shimmering guitar-based music with A Moonrise Was the Second Coming. It is a sequel to The Second Coming Was a Moonrise, drawn from the same sonic universe and named for a teenage night when Byrd and a friend, under the influence of psychedelics, mistook the moonrise for the second coming. These are the songs the duo couldn't leave behind: music that makes the heart ache.

Returning guests include Matt Kidd of Slow Meadow on strings and guitar, Deserta's Matthew Doty on synths and guitar, Christine Byrd of Lumenette on vocals, Chad Howat on keys and bass and Jake Finch on drums. Pressed on vinyl LP.

Genre: Ambient, Dream Pop, Post-Rock, Shoegaze.
