Francesco De Gregori - Viva l'Italia [180g Clear Vinyl]

Released in 1979, Viva l'Italia followed De Gregori's return from a self-imposed retirement and his celebrated collaboration with Lucio Dalla on the Banana Republic tour. Produced by Andrew Loog Oldham and recorded in Rome with a half-British, half-American band, the album pairs warm acoustic arrangements and Latin American influences with lyrics that balance melancholy against irony.

The title track has been claimed and contested by parties across the Italian political spectrum in the decades since, much to the frustration of its author. Dalla appears on horns and clarinet.

Numbered limited edition of 500 copies, mastered at 24-bit/192kHz and pressed on 180-gram vinyl.
