Since her breakthrough back in 2016, Åsa Söderqvist's ShitKid has been one of the most interesting acts around, constantly defying expectations and breaking conventions. After abruptly ending the project in 2020 and disappearing from the music scene altogether, ShitKid now returns with compilations and a live comeback in 2026 touring across the world.

The Essential (Vol 2) brings together tracks from the slower and more experimental side of ShitKid, following the rawer, rock-focused Vol 1. The compilation arrives alongside a wave of sold-out live shows across the UK, Europe, Japan, and Canada. Over the years, ShitKid has received support from outlets including The FADER, NME, DIY, The Line of Best Fit, KEXP, and NPR.
