Monolink and CIOZ bring a stripped-back electronic edge to Crosstown Rebels with ‘Don’t Talk To Me’. The German multi-instrumentalist makes his Crosstown Rebels debut alongside Italy’s CIOZ. There are few artists in electronic music quite like Monolink. Moving naturally between singer-songwriter, producer, and live performer, his music gives as much weight to voice, melody, and narrative as it does to electronic production. The collaboration marks Monolink’s first outing on Crosstown Rebels, adding to an impressive career that has seen him craft his distinctive sound via Berlin-based imprint Embassy One and on labels like Cercle Records. Performances have taken that music from Burning Man and Montreux Jazz Festival to Day Zero Bali, where he joined Damian Lazarus for its first edition, as well as sets alongside Lazarus at Club Space, Zamna, and more around the world. Meanwhile, CIOZ brings his own expansive approach back to the label, with material also landing via Monaberry, Frau Blau, and Stil vor Talent, plus remixes for Diplo, Oliver Koletzki, Patrice Bäumel, and the Crosstown head honcho.
