Violin Concertant XXI Vol. 2 [CD]

Elena Denisova – Violin Concertant XXI Vol. 2 [CD]

Violinist Elena Denisova continues her survey of contemporary works for violin and orchestra with the Gustav Mahler Ensemble under Alexei Kornienko. Every piece here is a live recording and a world premiere recording in this version or arrangement, some captured at the Salzburg Festival 2025.

Highlights include Franz Hummel's Violin Concerto in memoriam Max Reger, premiered at the Max Reger Days in Weiden in the composer's presence, and Denisova's own arrangement of Stravinsky's Suite for Violin and Piano for violin and orchestra, which reveals surprising new colors. A follow-up to Vol. 1, Violin Concertos XXI, on CD from TYXart.

Genre: Classical, Contemporary Classical.
