Street Corner Icons: The Story of Doo Wop [LP]

Various Artists - Street Corner Icons: The Story of Doo Wop [LP]

Street Corner Icons: The Story of Doo Wop follows the vocal movement that began on city street corners and in hallway stairwells and went on to reshape American pop. Soaring tenor leads, deep bass anchors and call-and-response harmonies run through classics like The Penguins' 'Earth Angel', The Platters' 'Only You' and The Flamingos' 'I Only Have Eyes For You'.

Sixteen tracks run from The Clovers' R&B shuffle to Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers, The Chantels and Dion & The Belmonts, compiled by Acrobat on a single vinyl LP.
