Sam Lee - Songdreaming [CD]

Songdreaming is the fourth studio album by English folk singer Sam Lee, recorded during 2023 with producer Bernard Butler and arranger and composer James Keay. Its ten tracks rework traditional songs and reflect Lee's deep connection to the natural world.

The album ranges from acoustic songs to drone soundscapes. Opener 'Bushes and Briars' ends in a wash of noise, 'Sweet Girl McRee' is a tender ballad, 'Leaves of Life' has a gospel tinge, and 'Meeting Is A Pleasant Place' pairs electric guitar with London's Trans Voices choir in their recording debut. Presented on CD in a softpak sleeve.
