David Lindup - Shatter (Soundtrack) [LP Orange Vinyl]

The score for the 1974 action-thriller Shatter was composed by David Lindup, serving as a standout, Blaxploitation-style soundtrack that blends funky library music, wah-wah guitars, and Quincy Jones-style jazz elements. The main theme is a lively, brass-heavy pastiche of 1970s funk and soul, heavily inspired by Isaac Hayes’ iconic Shaft theme. In the final 1974 theatrical release, much of Lindup's acclaimed score was buried underneath the movie's heavy action sound effects. For decades, the Shatter soundtrack was never commercially released in any form. However, as part of Hammer's modern revival and restoration efforts, the original clean cues have been released for collectors. HAMMER FILMS are thrilled to announce the next release in their new range that will see an array of Hammer soundtracks remastered and available in deluxe packaging, accompanied by brand new, bespoke material. In news that will come as music to the ears of Hammer fans everywhere, we’re delighted to confirm that the original soundtrack to Shatter (1974) will soon be available on vinyl for the first time ever. The critically acclaimed score by David Lindup has been restored and remastered. For the first time, Lindup’s score is presented as originally intended. This 12” LP restores approximately thirty minutes of music, including the main theme, alternate cues, and incidental pieces. This is essential for library music collectors, film-music connoisseurs, and fans of funk music. Pressed on orange vinyl and produced exclusively as a Limited Collector’s Edition This exclusive vinyl release is available only from Hammer Films — once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.
