School Daze [2LP]

Patrick Cowley - School Daze [2LP]

Patrick Cowley was a pioneer of San Francisco disco and Hi-NRG. Born in Buffalo in 1950, he moved to San Francisco, founded the Electronic Music Lab at City College, and became known for producing Sylvester and remixing Donna Summer before his death in 1982.

School Daze gathers more than 80 minutes of his instrumental music from 1973 to 1981, much of it written for Fox Studio films. Influenced by Tomita, Wendy Carlos and Giorgio Moroder, it ranges from proto-techno and synth funk to post-punk and musique concrète, restored and remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios.

This double LP on black vinyl comes in a glossy gatefold with archival Fox Studio imagery and an essay by Indoor Life vocalist Jorge Socarras.
