Patterns from Nature [LP]

Quinsin Nachoff - Patterns from Nature [LP]

Saxophonist and composer Quinsin Nachoff is known for ambitious, through-composed works that blur the lines between modern jazz and contemporary classical writing. Patterns from Nature is a four-movement suite — 'Branches', 'Flow', 'Cracks' and 'Ripples' — that takes its forms from shapes found in the natural world, balancing intricate structure with improvisational freedom.

Released by London's Whirlwind Recordings on 180-gram vinyl for a quiet, detailed listen.
