Johnny Clarke - Originally Mr. Clarke [LP]

Johnny Clarke was one of the defining voices of 1970s roots reggae, a hitmaker for producer Bunny Lee whose sweet tenor carried songs like "None Shall Escape the Judgement" and "Move Out of Babylon". Originally Mr. Clarke, recorded for Brad Osbourne's New York-based Clocktower label, showcases that easy, soulful delivery over heavyweight rhythms.

Back on vinyl from Clocktower, this LP is an excellent pickup for roots collectors and anyone exploring the golden era of Jamaican vocal reggae.
