Handel: Messiah [3LP]

Christopher Hogwood & Academy of Ancient Music - Handel: Messiah [3LP]

Handel's Messiah is the most performed oratorio in the world, and Christopher Hogwood's recording with the Academy of Ancient Music helped change how it is heard. Played on period instruments with a lean, light-footed choir, it brings out the clarity and drive of Handel's writing, from the opening Sinfony and "Comfort Ye" to "For Unto Us a Child Is Born", "He Was Despised" and the Hallelujah Chorus.

The complete oratorio is spread across three LPs, giving each part of the work room on the vinyl. A UK import pressing from Decca.
