Distopìa [CD]

Saihs - Distopìa [CD]

Distopìa is the debut album by Saihs, a sextet formed in Florence in 2023: Matteo Zecchi (tenor saxophone), Giulio Mari (trumpet), Giulio Tullio (trombone), Lorenzo Fiorentini (piano), Giulio Barsotti (bass) and Edoardo Battaglia (drums).

The material was shaped over two years of rehearsals at the Scuola di Musica in Campi Bisenzio under director Massimo Barsotti. It comprises nine originals, each by a single band member, plus an arrangement of Bud Powell's 'Celia', in a contemporary jazz style.
