Chapman's Pool [CD]

Skinshape - Chapman's Pool [CD]

Skinshape is the project of British multi-instrumentalist William Dorey, who favors traditional recording methods and draws on everything from Ennio Morricone to The Beatles, mixing retro funk, soul, reggae, psych rock, African music and folk into his own distinctive sound.

Chapman's Pool is named after a bay on Dorset's Jurassic Coast near where Dorey grew up. It finds him reconnecting with the sounds that shaped him: spaghetti westerns, trip-hop, '60s and '70s Ethiopian jazz and '80s South African bubblegum. It features the singles The Blade of a Knife, Take It As It Is and Lover.

For fans of Khruangbin, Tame Impala, Michael Kiwanuka and Ezra Collective.
