Birthday Berrys [10"]

Chuck Berry - Birthday Berrys [10"]

Marking 100 years since Chuck Berry's birth, Bear Family's Birthday Berrys skips the obvious greatest-hits route to show the full range of his musical vocabulary. Teen anthems like 'Sweet Little Rock and Roller', 'Almost Grown' and 'Back in the U.S.A.' sit beside the R&B of 'Down the Road Apiece', the urban blues of 'I Got to Find My Baby', the swing of 'Roly Poly', the Latin lilt of 'La Jaunda' and trickster tales like 'Jo Jo Gunne', several unheard on vinyl for decades.

Freshly remastered, the 12 tracks come on a 10-inch LP with a 12-page booklet featuring an essay by Chicago music historian Bill Dahl and rare photos from Bear Family's out-of-print Berry box set.
