Art Pepper – Art in the Apple: Live at Fat Tuesday's, New York, 1980 [2CD]
Alto saxophonist Art Pepper was deep into his celebrated late-career comeback when he played Fat Tuesday's in New York in 1980, and Art in the Apple captures him live at the club. After years lost to addiction and prison, Pepper's playing in this final stretch was raw, searching and intensely emotional, and live sets like this one show why fans treasure it.
A two-disc set from Omnivore Recordings, presenting the Fat Tuesday's performance on 2CD.
Genre: Jazz.
