Austin based experimental indie rock darlings Font wrote their sophomore record over the course of two years. After their debut, Strange Burden (2024), the band wanted to reframe their approach to writing. Many of the songs on this new album were built from recordings of improvised sessions in their friends' studio in Long Beach, California. "We were guided by many of the same questions that guided our first record: Where does the acoustic end and the electronic begin? What's the relationship between dark and light, despair and euphoria, the self and the other?"
