The band's worldview, reminiscent of "death" and "aestheticism," and Jim Morrison's charismatic stage presence drew attention, and their debut album, "Light a Fire in My Heart," quickly won a gold disc. In 1968, their third album, "Waiting for the Sun," which included the hit song "Hello, I Love You," reached number one on the US album charts for the first time. After releasing their sixth album, "LA Woman," Jim passed away at the young age of 27.
