“Having a role model is so important,” says Duenas, “someone who is a constant source of inspiration.” Homage to Heifetz celebrates the iconic violinist Jascha Heifetz – whose recorded legacy has long been a key influence on Duenas – and reflects her artistic affinity with conductor Gustavo Dudamel. He and the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela (of which he is Music & Artistic Director) joined Maria at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios to record Korngold’s Violin Concerto and Lalo’s Symphonie espagnole. 2-LP set.
