{"product_id":"permanence-lp","title":"Permanence [LP]","description":"\u003ch2\u003eFILM - Permanence [LP]\u003c\/h2\u003e\nJoe Reinhart best known as the guitarist of Algernon\n\nCadwallader and Hop Along had been jamming out some\n\nnew ideas with drummer TJ DeBlois who Joe played with\n\nback in the pre-Algernon days in the band Halfway to\n\nHolland. They needed a bassist and singer to round out\n\ntheir lineup and they had the thought to reach out to Ken\n\nwho jumped at the chance. Ken a self-described “In Utero\n\nand Pinkerton kid” skyrocketed to fame as the singer of\n\nthe pop punk band The Starting Line but he always loved\n\nthe dirtier noisier weirder side of punk and this new\n\nproject gave him the chance to embrace that.\n\nEverything came together pretty quickly and\n\ncollaboratively. They took cues from gritty\n\naggressive-yet-melodic punk and post-hardcore bands like\n\nDrive Like Jehu Mclusky and Braid and they made it a\n\npoint to trust their instincts and not overthink anything.\n\nThey tuned out any thoughts of what other people might\n\nthink of the music and just reveled in the youthful reckless\n\nabandon of punk rock at its purest and rawest.\n\nThey named their band FILM and when it came to\n\nrecording their debut album Permanence they went with\n\ntheir first instincts not overthinking anything and not\n\nworrying about any outside pressure.
