This recording showcases the three artists' unique interpretation of Philip Glass's famous Piano Etudes. The idea behind Glass Gaze began when in a moment seemingly suspended in time, Elfasci & Erard discovered Etude No. 16 in its original piano version. The duo soon began to arrange the piece for two guitars, and recorded the Etude beneath the vaulted ceilings of the Maladrerie Saint-Lazare, near Paris. Since then, the duo have always carried the complete collection of Philip Glass's 20 piano Etudes, listening to them on repeat, stating that 'like a small crowd of once-unfamiliar faces, these 20 Etudes gradually emerged from anonymity, each now resonating with listeners with the singularity of faces we have come to cherish. 01.
