In 2018, Danish conductor Mogens Dahl envisioned a new choral work by Sven-David Sandström, featuring Nils Landgren's trombone and vocals. Despite illness, Sandström swiftly completed Sonnets of Darkness and Love, setting texts by Shakespeare, Lorca, and Nietzsche. Performed by Landgren and the Swedish Radio Choir under Kaspars Putniņš, this live recording captures its haunting beauty.
